Charnwood Street

Charnwood Street stretched from Nedham Street to Spinney Hill Road and ran adjacent with Humberstone Road until demolition around 1970. There is now a housing estate situated where the street was.

Paddy's Swag shop was opened around 1954 by 'Paddy' Rogers. Prior to this he owned a smaller shop directly opposite. The number of the shop is unknown but it was next to the junction with Frank Street and was the first shop on Charnwood Street on the right handside as you entered from Spinney Hill Road.The shop was run by 'Paddy' and his son, Don Rogers.
